"I liked the grungy strength...It's an individual album of depth."

- Martin Chilton, THE TELEGRAPH

"Amelia White’s voice has the craggy, jagged grit and pain of Lucinda Williams at her best but it also has a sweetness that Ms. Williams doesn’t possess...you have an album that, even this early, is going to be one of the best of the year."

Amelia White

Amelia cut her teeth in the same thriving folk scene that turned out Mary Gauthier and Lori McKenna. She was equally at home in the subway and rock clubs. The songs poured out, and she played, toured, travelled and found ways to record her first two critically acclaimed albums.

With her 2006 album “Black Doves," she began playing stages and  circuits in Europe, and sharing shows with some of her heroes: Rosie Flores, Asleep At The Wheel, Slaid Cleaves, and Tim O’Brien. Some of her songs found there way into TV shows such as “Justified” and “Summerland."   USA Today says "White sings haunting melodies with themes of home and family as inspiration.

"...hauntingly beautiful...I found the whole album [Radiant] to be brilliant."

- Lisa Snedecker, HUFFINGTON POST

"A more fitting title than "Radiant" does not exist for the new record from Wild Ponies. A shimmering country beauty, the music on the album seems to glow."

- Maeri Ferguson, NO DEPRESSION

Wild Ponies

Doug and Telisha Williams, take their band name from the small-but-mighty animal that roams their native Virginia highlands.

The married duo’s music draws on old-time tradition while embracing the fierce spirit of the songwriters who inspire them – Hazel Dickens, Steve Earle and Lucinda Williams, to name a few.   Their most recent album, Things That Used to Shine, was produced by Grammy winner Ray Kennedy, known for his work with Steve Earle, Emmylou Harris and Nanci Griffith.  The music made a strong showing on the national Americana airplay chart – one that relies on airplay from the album as a whole, rather than just a focus track.
